Its 1972 and I just co-founded the Women's Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union. I am very passionate about this women's rights project. Im hoping to make a difference and discover equality. As a female on the Supreme Court I will continue to argue for gender equality. I have argued over 300 gender discrimination cases during the 13 years as a U.S. Court of Appeals judge. Over all the changes that have been made. My biggest accomplishment would have to be the Frontiero v. Richardson in 1973. This case set the basis against sex discrimination. Women's Rights in EmploymentI tried to make sure that gender equality was happening in all employments. My years on the supreme court have shown me what changes need to be made, I wanted to be the one to make those changes. As a woman on the supreme court I really felt for these young hard working girls who have to be punished for a beautiful thing like pregnancy. A law I championed was Employers cannot discriminate against employees based on gender or reproductive choices. Having pregnancy discrimination recognized was a form of sex discrimination. If a women got pregenant she would get sex discrimated against and get fired from her place of work. This was completely unacceptable. I helped pass the Pregnancy Discrimination Act with Susan Deller Ross. This act allowed women to now be more protected against getting fired, or not considered for a job because they are pregnant or have plans to get pregnant. Women should not be discrimitted against because of there sex. Women shoud not get payed less becuase of there sex, and women should not have to leave there job of work if they are pregnat.
